Photography series in progress
So far, my working title for this is "Memento Mori" but that may change.
Here are a few images from the series.

More here.
figure drawing
Here are two (crappy) copy shots (made with my phone) of two drawings i did during the live figure drawing portion of drawing class. As you can see with the first one, we were lucky enough to get a pregnant model for 2 sessions.
These are currently on display at NEIU.
i will try to post better shots at a later date. And i have several more drawings i will post later as well.
both are charcoal on paper, 18"x24"

Pixel Painting finally done!
*** This painting was stolen from Northeastern Illinois University on Feb. 21st or 22nd, 2010. If you have any information about the whereabouts of this painting, or the person or persons involved in its theft, please contact Jose Orozco at the NEIU Police Dept. 773-442-4100. If you are in possession of this painting, you may return it to the Art Dept office, or to the mailbox of Mary Porterfield or Mark McKernin no questions asked. ***
(i feel the need to add, out of my own disappointment and loss, that i mixed over 800 individual colors for this painting.)
Here is my pixel painting i did for my Color Theory class. i opted for the extra credit (go figure...) and added shapes inside the pixel squares, in the style of Chuck Close. For best viewing:You should view them together, enlarged, and stand about 10 feet or so from your monitor. (unless you are unable to enlarge, then a bit closer perhaps.)(you can also look at it with one eye, or squint your eyes to get the right effect.)

Sunday
Sunday was a very long day.
i finished my ink drawing for class (due Monday). (this is a "translation" of the last drawing i did in charcoal of the same subject, but this time all pen and ink and ink wash)
i started working on it at about 11:30am (sunday) and finally called it quits at about 9:30pm.
This week i have to finish 2 linocut prints, a pixel painting and probably more. No sleep for me!

it is hard to see all the details in either picture because there are very fine lines throughout.
i started working on it at about 11:30am (sunday) and finally called it quits at about 9:30pm.
